Problem
After the land survey in Beşiktaş, we found that there is some residential areas right next to a main highway that houses all kind of transportation (private cars, Busses, mini busses, dulmoshs...).
A lot of people in this area were suffering from a heavy noise and pollution caused by the highway and the vehichals passing there. this was affecting their life in a bad way.
Solution There is a lot of solution for this kind of problem, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, so we tried to brainstorm the solutions and bread between them to get the ultimate solution... 1- create a level difference between the high way and the residential areas, but this is a radical solution and very expensive 2- create a high solid wall to separate between the residential buildings and the highway, and this solution has bad effects of disconnecting the buildings form the outer community physically and visually. 3- create a buffer zone of vegetation, this could solve the problem only if it was wide enough (60 meter to reduce the noise 50%) but this space is unavailable in the site.
